Just to let you all know a recent project I was working on has gone live. Its quite an interesting one. Many years ago Venezuela decided that kids should be given free musical lessons to try and keep them of the street. Called El Sistema by its members, the programme is celebrating 30 years of making classical musicians out of half-a-million young Venezuelans, and it has transformed the lives of many underprivileged and at-risk youths in the process.
Now Scotland is trying to create the same system in Raploch in Stirling. They want to use the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive, understanding, empathy and emotional intelligence. To be a positive role model and consistent source of support for the children and to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive, understanding, empathy and emotional intelligence. This will be a positive role model and consistent source of support for the children.
This website is building bridges between the two countries.
